Hello Yvon,

You have not posted for a long time.
How are you feeling after your transplant? are you on any medication? any maintenance?
Keep well and all the best.

Yvon, I tried 2 stem cell transplants one I completed using my own stem cells in 2004 getting rid of 98% but Dr O'Shaughnessy wanted to try the second one and at the time no one had at done so but my Insurance company agreed so away we went but I was not able to finish it because one of my disc # T8 blew out sending shards into my spinal cord eventually causing paralysis from waist down but yet it's 2014 and I'm still around watching my two grandkids run and play. Dr KALTER told usI was in the advanced stages but just last year he told me I was the luckiest man around plus the toughest also. Well good luck and keep up a strong attitude.

Great to hear that you have had 11 years since diagnosis. I was diagnosed in 2006 and had a stem cell transplant 7 years ago. Although the myeloma caused my kidneys to fail I have been on dialysis for 6 years and have been in remission from the myeloma for 7 years.

I think it is important to share the good stories with myeloma as treatments are getting better all the time. Let's hope your second transplant lasts a really long time.

So glad you are doing so well; it encourages others to know it is possible.
